Carn Kenidjack

Carn Kenidjack

Carn Kenidjack, also known as the Hooting Cairn (pictured above), is located approximately one mile north of the village of St. Just at a place called Kenidjack. It is said to be haunted by witched led by a character named “Old Moll”. Furthermore, legend states that beneath it lies “The Gump” - a place where Satan himself claims lost souls and demons clash in combat. Pixies are also supposed to lure the unsuspecting traveller there.

Man-an-Tol

This particular Man-an-Tol is located just on a lane off the main road between St. Just and Morvah. It is a round stone that has a hole in the centre, and stands between two upright stones. The custom states that to cure any “ailment or nightmare or weight in your chest” or to “blacken disease”, you must crawl through the hole nine times against the sun.
